Gua Sha Treatment
Gua Sha is another traditional healing technique in Chinese culture. Practitioner uses a piece of smooth horn to scrape the skin into pink or red over an affected area. In this way, Gua Sha can release the deep toxin and unblock the obstruction of the circulation of qi and blood.
Gua Sha technique is generally used to release muscle tension, tightness, and constriction. It also is used to reduce fever and toxic heat from deep inside of the body. The patient may feel a bit like the deep massage.
With Gus Sha technique, there is always redness or even deep bruise left on the area worked on. It is the therapeutic method with Gua Sha, and the patient shouldn’t worry much when seeing these kinds of changes on the skin. In general, the skin will be back to normal within a week.
